Mayor, Cr. Catherine Cumming

Brace yourselves for an exceptional two-and-half-weeks of immersive arts, showcasing some of our best local talent in the west.

Maribyrnong City Council is delighted to be partnering with the Victorian Government to bring you the inaugural Due West: Immersive Arts Festival. This newest addition to the Festival City calendar will take audiences on a journey of discovery through the west with performances, workshops, exhibitions, installations and public celebrations by local creatives, organisations and venues.

Through our Festival City program Council attracts and nurtures activities which support and foster the arts, contributing to the cultural and civic richness of our City. With the introduction of Due West into the Festival City program, we can continue to support the arts community, cultivate local talent and provide opportunities for our wider community to participate in and enjoy.

Congratulations to the Due West 2017 Creative Directors, The Background, and to all the artists, venues, staff, volunteers and participants involved – thank you and enjoy immersing yourself in the Festival!
